Jim Tsaprailis, Physiotherapist
Jim was born and raised in Sarnia, Ontario and graduated with high honors from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy in 1998. He captained the Western Mens’ Soccer team to several provincial championships, a silver and bronze national championship and was twice named to the Varsity All-Canadian team. He started working with professional and college athletes in a Henry Ford Sports Medicine Physical Therapy Clinic in Michigan before opening up Sport And Spine Physiotherapy clinic in Sarnia in 2005.
Jim’s treatment approach incorporates correcting faulty alignment, movement patterns and muscle imbalances. He is passionate about returning his clients to their maximum potential whether in sport, occupation, lifestyle or performance. He uses a thorough assessment to accurately identify the “root cause of the symptom” and reveal the underlying diagnosis. Treatment incorporates manual therapy (hands on treatment to increase joint and tissue mobility, flexibility and muscle activation), exercise prescription, client education and modalities to help restore optimal health. He aims to empower his clients with education and injury prevention strategies so they can return to, and maintain their optimal level of function. He believes in a hands on approach and his treatment philosophy is very proactive and research based. He has a special interest in treating running, golf and sports/activity related injuries so clients can return to the activities they really enjoy. Jim is passionate about offering the best and latest treatment techniques to his clients, constantly learning the latest rehabilitation skills through physiotherapy post-graduate training courses.
Jim has worked with clients of all ages and abilities, volunteering at various local sports events. Jim is passionate about living an active lifestyle and continues to participate in soccer, running marathons, and weight training. He is married to Pauline, a local physiotherapist at Bluewater Health, and they are both blessed with three beautiful children: Alexis, Ioanna and Georgios.
Avery Bathe-Minard (she/her), Medical Receptionist, PTA
Avery is born and raised in Sarnia, ON recently graduating from a Honours Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology and Health Science from York Univeristy and the recipient of a College Certificate in Office Administration at Lambton College. During her education Avery was a member of the York Lions Women's Basketball Team and most recently brought home an OCAA Championship and a CCAA National Silver Medal with the Lambton Lions Women's Basketball team.
Avery is a passionate advocate for health and wellness, inspired by her journey as a student-athlete and her experiences with physiotherapy. She believes in the power of a balanced lifestyle to enhance both physical and mental well-being. Through her athletic journey, she has cultivated a holistic approach to wellness that emphasizes resilience, self-care, and the importance of physical rehabilitation. Grateful for the support and care she received from her community, she is dedicated to giving back by promoting wellness initiatives that uplift others.
Outside of the clinic Avery keeps active by playing recreational basketball, baseball, volleyball, and flag football and enjoys reading, cooking, gardening, coaching local youth sports teams in her spare time.
